Thoughts..

Rain when smelt…
for what good is rain
trickling down the sides of a glass house?

Music when felt…
pulsating through
each and every vein

Wind when caressed…
on a mountaintop under the sun
affectionate tousling of hair

Book when held…
promising a journey untold
an existence in itself

Tears when shed…
for what good are welled up tears.
that get stifled before their time?

Love when said…
beauty like no other is sharing it
suppressed love isn’t love at all

The Sun roof

The concept of the sun roof, simple as it may be, offers a very profound view to life. On a bus journey back to my apartment, the thought struck me..the inventor of the sun roof must have been a very wise man indeed. Come to think of it, it’s the ideal filter mechanism. All we need to do is keep one view of the world open all the time, so we can experience what goes on outside whilst being protected from the extreme variations in weather..and yet we have the option of opening the window whenever we desire to become a part of that world. Perhaps he was the sanest man alive, for he realized how important it is to shut out some aspects at the same time having the opportunity to revel in the beauty the world offers.

Divine Retribution

Life takes us along paths and alleys which we think will lead to somewhere beautiful. In an idyllic world this might be true but in the real world, things seldom fall perfectly into place with the flamboyance we desire. On the journey we might encounter trouble, and we are tempted to compromise another person to ease the pain of our sore sore feet. Then we continue to trudge on, carrying the false sense of complacency of having made everything alright.

Who has seen Heaven? Has anyone experienced hell? It’s all here. It’s all in this life. There is no wait till death to get to the justice. It all happens in this lifetime. The good, the bad. The right, the wrong.

The Last Dance

Things seem to be on an expressway to the finish these days. Everything seems to have a different hue when you know its going to be the last time around.Life is stunning really, in a good way of course. At the roundup ceremony, you tend to look at only the good memories and all the sordid old tales of woes seem to be too trivial to be brought to the foreground. The ceremony again is purely a conjured up image in my head, with everyone doing the last waltz, perhaps a symbol of the touch of finality the situation offers. Bidding farewell to people and rituals that one has been associated with for a substantial amount of time is a herculean task. It evokes feelings and memories which are rarely experienced in tandem.Happy albeit a sad realization...
When the fast track option seems to be in play, i'd ideally like to capture the moment in a jar, fasten the cap tightly and carry it along with me for some rainy day.Imagine the possibilities this idea offers, 'bottled happiness'-99.99% Pure.Ideal for abysmal situations.
Directions for use: Unscrew cap gently. Whiff.Count till 5.Repeat. Fasten Cap after use.
Nothing like a little change to put things in perspective.Perhaps sans the though of losing something we wouldn't realize the importance of the present.Ergo, Life is now(apologies Vodafone).

I live in a Song

I live in a song, of everything that’s true

I meander through the octaves, the clefs and notes

I sing out the words, dance out the beats

I hum when words fail me, I let the song be me

Conversations

Very few would understand the true meaning of what is to follow, for those who don't, I can't even begin to explain how important contextual laughter is, for those who DO understand what this is all about, please forgive me for sharing this:

I
What we did

Divya: Adi!how are you?
Adi: Divya! (surprise)Tum yahan? I didn't( stammers) knew you'd be here
Divya: Well here I am!(awed) Aren't you surprised to see me? (puzzled)
Adi: Nice partay eh? (Bobs head like a hip hop wannabe looking for his catch)
Divya: Adi..dont leave me.booohooooooooooo ( waterworks)
Adi: Divya! It was only one date. (Pause) We went!
Divya: boohooo (Waterworks continue)

II

What we should have done

Divya: Adi!how are you?
Adi: Don't I look pleasantly plump? You blind cow!
Divya: Well, Aren't you surprised to see me?(puzzled)
Adi: Don't hold your breath Judy
Divya: Judy? You're with Judy now?But she's a man!
Adi: Divya! We conoodled behind the booth.(Pause) Just once.
Divya: boohoooo. You called my love conoodling
Adi: conoodling is the basic form of love (smirks)
Divya: boohoooo (waterworks)

' I am this moment'

Moments...a coffee spill all over your favorite top, a redundancy that makes your sentence much to much funny or a song, playing over and over.Nothing compares to the exuberance in these moments which aren't grand or planned. It's about the little things that make your heart skip a beat, or engulf you in a smile. Sounding idealistic wasn't intended, but neither were these moments...

1. Walking aimlessly after hours with 'dice' on repeat
2. Star gazing
3. Driving into the dead of the night, on the empty roads
4. Waffles with maple syrup at Big Chill
5. Illusion on radio
6. Reading old diary entries
7. Sneaking to the terrace at night
8. Dancing to Staying Alive
9. Dreaming of Wentworth Miller
10. The use of the sentence " For what joy?"

Sometimes we are faced with choices, it happens more often than we fathom. Temptation plays a catalytic role in our decision-making process. We tend to get mislead, our perception distorted, this go with the flow attitude often leads to us compromising on our principles. Some feel that a life without such ground rules is the one which would enable them to reap maximum benefits, they fail to realise that such consciously deciphered guidelines, are what in turn gives our life a footing, an anchor, a security which would otherwise be lacking from the eclectic lifestyles of the contemporary human. This realisation must come from within, it does not thrive under coercion, and it can not be imposed or dictated.

The society often makes us feel that the path of realisation is so adopted so as to conform to the norms of the so called social system. On the contrary realisation within an individual would often refute the society’s archaic customs, adopting a course which is usually frowned upon by the society. Adherence of the self-constructed principle centered lifestyle is often looked upon by individuals as a way of appeasing others, what we fail to realise is that it is a conscious decision which enriches our life and thus enables us to be in a position whereby we can understand ourselves better.

The Road Trip and An Overcast Sky

Which is the best way to ward off monday blues?A good breakfast?curfew in the city? Personally,I'd recommend a road trip.An impromptu one at that too. Clearly,i've been there hence the preaching. So, we set out one fine monday morning for college, the clouds were ripe with the promise of rain and the roads clogged with day before's downpour, the road was long and winding, leading to never ending lectures. An idea from the backseat,"lets go to mussoorie".Heads jerked back to reality, hitting hard as the car bumped along the UP road.A grumpy voice "thats too far". "Nainital?" "Still Far". "Agra?". Silence.Bumps.Nods."Doable" Calls were made, classes ignored, proxies arranged.Pit stops made.Amenities picked up.Ahem.So it began.Outrageous driving, being thrown around the backseat and frantic search for seatbelts. We were quite kicked, the bunch of to have driven off on such a short notice, living on the edge doesn't come easily you see, bunking classes..monday at that too.We made it to Agra in good time, inspite of stopping amidst bushes and a one Rajasthan Hotel for unavoidable reasons. The road to the Taj from the parking lot was treaded cautiously by a tonga, which we paid for riding ofcourse. The horse was inclined on moving sideways, perhaps it had sensed our excitement.'tis not everyday you visit a newly reinitiated 7th wonder of the world. Not that there was much doubt about it making to the list, given our burgeoning population and growing mobile phone subscriber base at that too.Not that im denouncing the monument in question here, just some statistical inference, thats all.
I believe nothing can prepare one for the beauty that confronts you as you set your sight on the Taj.It stands so pristine and majestic, and the dark clouds which formed the perfect contrast on this day, made it stand out even more beautifully. It astounds me, the purity that it seems to exude in a world so dark and flawed.
The drive back was quite boring really, with people dropping off to catch some sleep, and us making it to the highway which most probably lead to Mumbai.

Thinking in Verse

Such a long long time 'tis been since I wrote last. I have started thinking in verse now, however psuedo that may sound. Rhyme or no rhyme. Verse is the way of life.:)

Paint a Picture for you
A shade of brilliance,perfect hue
placing swings of memories
and slides of twin emotions
you ride high and low
Warm trees stand transfixed
as the wind rustles through their being
witnessing the moments you live
I make them stand guard, as you give
give to the world around you
they watch, still as ever, as things are taken-
snatched away
Its then I coaxe you to rest in the shady grove
The picture gets blurry at times, the way you see
from my end its just a new perspective
willing you to be
