Dolled up daughters,
in silver and frills,
trained to smile,
cephalically dead.

  1. I often wonder whether it is a case of being "cephalically dead" or perhaps having made a grossly unfair but strong agreement to themselves to just swallow one's own emotion before it reaches the heart (or the head) and learn to "feel" what "they" feel (wonder if it could be called feeling at all). Which also leads me to wonder that should be awe-struck by this tremendous display of courage and mental strength or to be rather dismayed by a helpless submission to the shameful norm(s)?

Is this a case to empathize, or is this is a one to just shake one's head?

How I wish there was an answer to that!
